In 2024, the Veterinary Practitioner Association of Thailand again held its annual event at the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center in Thailand.
This year, our sole distributor in Thailand, T.J. Animal Health, has launched Mimitoll-S. We aim to use this product to prevent Feline Arterial Thromboembolism (FATE) in cats. FATE is a life-threatening condition associated with cardiovascular disease, affecting one-third of cats and leading to severe complications. Even with medication, recurrence of FATE can occur within 2-3 years. Mimitoll-S contains a fibrinolytic enzyme extracted from earthworm powder, which has plasminogen activity to prevent FATE.
To improve the quality of life for these cats, T.J. Animal Health has introduced Mimitoll-S in Thailand. Additionally, we are conducting further studies on its efficacy with Thai cardiovascular disease specialist veterinarians. The results of this study will be announced once completed.
Additionally, there was a seminar on the use of Pinfenon-S in dogs with heart disease and an introduction to Mimitoll-S for cats with FATE symptoms. This seminar aimed to provide attending veterinarians with knowledge and guidelines to help preserve the quality of life for these animals. Waki Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd., the manufacturer of earthworm powder with over 140 years of experience, attended the seminar and conference to offer support and share information.
In addition to participating in the conference, we visited the Home for Handicapped Animals Foundation and donated to support their compassionate work. The foundation provides excellent care for dogs and cats.
We hope to contribute to a better quality of life for small animals.
