In 2022, Scarecrow Inc., Japan participated the 43rd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Clinical Veterinary Medicine at Osaka International Convention Center during 19-20 November 2022. This time Scarecrow Inc., Japan held the lunch seminar about the update on LPS research and use in the treatment of small animals. The seminar topic is detailed below;
1) The study of the result using innate immune LPS on Alopecia X by Mr. Hiroshi Okawa representative of Scarecrow Inc., Japan. It was a study on the combined use of Pantoea agglomerans lipoposacharide (LPS) and pine bark polyphenol (Pinus pinaster polyphenol) called Tricho S in small animals for 273 cases of Atopy dermatitis animals (237 canines, 18 felines, and 8 others). The administration period was 30 days, found 152 cases (56%) were improved.
2) The study on the effect of LPS on antibiotic side effects avoiding by Ass.Prof. Dr. Hiroyuki Inagawa. The antibiotic is highly selective and toxicity to bacteria, it could effective in the infection. On the other hand, it affects symbiotic bacteria as well, it’s side effect further by innate immunity suppression. Moreover, the oral administration of 10 µg/kg could help to avoid the decrease of innate immunity and antibiotic side effect.
Besides that, there was a poster presentation about the effect of URAJIRON as a food supplement on maintaining the urinary tract in canines and felines. Which found URAJIRON and medicines-taken canines and felines’ health circumstances had been significantly improved.
Further, the conference was back again after the pandemic of COVID-19. It was a great opportunity for the Japanese veterinary community and animal health merchants.
