Cases presented at the conference
IPET was administered to animals with diseases and it was confirmed that IPET lowered macrophage’s antioxidation effect, exerted an improvement in cellular immunity function of lymphocytes, and both effects allowed the possibility of accelerating the treatment of disease.
IPET is carefully manufactured by harvesting the bark of the South American ipe tree and extracting an active component. IPET contains a number of effective ingredients, such as vitamins and minerals that increase the immunity and natural healing power of the body. In this study, to examine the effect of IPET on immunity functions within the living body, we examined the effect of the nonspecific immunity and cellular immunity functions and carried out four experiments (1 to 4).
Experiment 1
■ Content Comparison of the effect of different doses of IPET on the cellular immunity function of white blood cells
■ Result It was suggested IPET has an antioxidation effect, which inhibits the release of active oxygen from white blood cells that exert phagocytosis on bacteria and foreign substances. There is also a possibility that the lymphocytes of immune cells promote the release of active oxygen.
Experiment 2
■ Content Comparison of the effect of different doses of IPET on T lymphocyte CD4 and CD8
■ Result It was suggested that IPET has a possibility of improving cellular immunity derived from killer T cells.
Experiment 3
■ Content Comparison of the cellular immunity function among three groups: administration of Taheebo base powder; administration of vitamin E; and no administration.
■ Result It was suggested that like vitamin E, Taheebo acts as an antioxidant. It was also suggested that in the administered groups, approximately 0.3 g (IPET 3 tablets) is optimal and concerning antioxidation, even 0.1 g (1 tablet) is effective.
Experiment 4
■ Content Comparison of the cellular immunity function of Taheebo base powder on dogs with artificial pyometra
■ Result It was proved that Taheebo has a possibility to demonstrate an antioxidation effect on pyometra with its increased release of active oxygen, and improve the strength of cellular immunity, and thus accelerate recovery from pyometra.

Summary
It was confirmed that IPET decreases the antioxidation effect of neutrophils and macrophages, which are phagocytes, and improves the cellular immunity function of lymphocytes, and these effects demonstrate the possibility of accelerating the healing of disease.

My impressions of the conference
This was the 28th Annual Meeting of Japanese Society of Clinical Veterinary Medicine, and every year with its respected history and high status attracts many clinicians.
This year again the conference was blessed with good weather, and a great number of vets, researchers, and students attended. A woman student gave a presentation on developing empathy by involving animals (e.g. dogs, cats, birds), from which I inferred a growing interest in the animal market.
For the third consecutive year, our company gave a presentation on supplements.

As stated in the saying, a balanced diet leads to a healthy body, I feel that if health is maintained or improved based on quality food and nutrition, we will be able to create a society of happy families with animals.
