Shih Tzu Kenta's cute letter (*^_^*) No. 2

Kenta has been taking Pinfenon for 1 month.
His owner has illustrated his gradual improvement with cute sketches.

This is my second order.

Up until the day before the Pinfenon arrived, his breathing was rough and he was in bad shape...At one point, right before my eyes, he coughed and bent his body backwards and fainted. He was stretched out as if about to leave this world.

...The next day, I started giving him Pinfenon, half doubting it...
That very day, he changed right before my eyes, and now he has an appetite and is lively.
Thank you.

This is a different subject, but I had noticed that there was something wrong with one of his eyes and was putting in eye drops the other day, but gradually the skin around the eye became red and swollen, and he couldn't open it.

Then the day after that--gasp, blood--there was blood coming out right under his eye, and no matter how much I wiped it away, it wouldn't stop. What on earth was going on?

The vet immediately decided to operate; the problem was not the dog's eye, but his teeth-- a severe case of periodontal disease.
Plaque build-up had harmed his teeth and allowed bacteria to get in, his gums were weak and the teeth were ready to fall out; pus formed, and (pus) ended up 'bleeding' from his face.
Kenta's teeth were hurting him.

I was worried about his having general anesthesia because of his advanced age and heart disease, but he came through it all right, and now I am feeling relieved.
His stitches will be taken out around the beginning of next week.

His lungs, which had been white, are now clear, so I am relieved. However, a blood test indicated that his red blood count was again down from what it was 2 months ago, so I asked at the hospital if there were something to give him for that, and the vet gave me a medicine called Slow Fe, which I am giving my dog. But the vet seemed uncertain as to how much good we could expect from it.

Would you please advise me separately about any simple recipes I might be able to prepare at home? (He is presently eating Hills h/d that comes in cans, but seems to be tiring of it.)

He has gone from 5.5 kg before his collapse to his present weight of 4.6 kg.
I was told that if he had an appetite, I should increase the amount of food I give him, so as to strengthen his health, but I wonder if a dog with a heart trouble is bound to lose weight. He seems unable to flesh out any longer

I would appreciate your advice about the above concerns.
