This is an inquiry/message from the owner of Chitchi, a Shih Tzu suffering from asthma and skin trouble.

This is the story of how her bad cough completely stopped after about a month...

My dog is suffering from skin trouble and asthma. The treatment she got at the pet hospital didn't cure her, and I was determined to make her better, so I began searching for help.
I was excited when my search brought up information about another doggy that had exactly the same symptoms and was cured.

The skin becomes red, leading to scabbing, and then the dog scratches. Pus (like the nasal discharge in a person with a cold) and bleeding (rather thick blood) result, and these symptoms occur over and over again.

At present, my dog has about ten such places around her neck; they are 1~3 cm in diameter.
Once in a while a scab fall off, revealing healthy skin, but there are always new ones forming somewhere else.
She has a lot of round, mushy, black spots around her neck and behind her ears.
When I pick them off, I can see her flesh looking just as if there were little craters in it.

Another problem is her asthma. She has suffered from it from time to time since she was a puppy; but for a year now, she has had a constant cough accompanied by a wheezing sound. This happens right after she gets up and after walking and when she gets excited. It seems very hard for her to breathe.

I'd like to see if Pinfenon is right for our Chitchi. When taking it together with food, is there any food that should be avoided?

Would you please let me know? I would appreciate your support.

Thank you for the 15 sample pills of Pinfenon.

I started giving it to her yesterday.
It doesn't seem to disagree with her, so I am ordering a one-month supply, to begin with.
At present I am feeding her Pedigree's "Natural Food for Dogs from 7 to the Senior Years." Please let me know if I should change her food.

Since July 5, I have been giving her 2 pills of Pinfenon in the morning and 2 at night.

The pus and bleeding from her skin are much better.
Her terrible wheezing cough also stopped completely about a week ago.
I am so relieved!

But there is just one thing bothering me now. Since yesterday, she has been unable to walk on the bare floor; perhaps her hind legs have become weak.
I am trying to work around that by laying towels down in the places where she walks.

I am going to have her checked at the hospital today.
